PHILADELPHIA, PA. APRIL 11, 2015 – The Pennsylvania SPCA today announced that the 19 cocker spaniel-mix dogs rescued from a farm in Lititz, Lancaster County, were surrendered on Friday and many will be available for adoption on Sunday. The dogs were rescued for alleged violations of unsanitary confinement on March 27, 2015. These dogs were part of a second large-scale rescue at this property in four months.

As part of their surrender, the dogs have received spay/neuter surgery and age-appropriate vaccines. Several of dogs will be available at the mobile adoption center in the parking lot of the Philadelphia headquarters at 350 E. Erie Avenue on Sunday from 2-7p.m. The rest of the dogs will be available for adoption in the upcoming week.

On Dec. 16, 2014, PSCPA Humane Law Enforcement rescued 62 cocker spaniel mix-dogs for unsanitary confinement and failure to provide veterinary care. The seizures in March were in violation of a court order from the earlier case that restricted the woman’s animal ownership.

"We are pleased these animals will be available for adoption," said Pennsylvania SPCA CEO Jerry Buckley.  "After their challenging start in life, we look forward to finding them loving homes, just as we did for the original 62 dogs after their rescue in December.”
